I like that thought ... that also cuddly toys have families :-)
I had a little elephant -- Koshla. I somehow managed to 'snuggle off' his front legs, and my mother (not the best of seamstresses by a very long shot) darned him back together ... more stitches & stuffing than anything, but that didn't bother me at all. Haven't thought of him for years and years ...
I'm so pleased to follow you here on Substack, because I really like your shop, your work and the way you do it. It IS an education for me.
I love seeing bits and pieces of Jennie's story. Especially how she got started, and had to adapt the methods that became her signature, for lack of a word I can't quite conjure. She really deserves a biography.
There’s things I’ve learned since she died that she never told me…the notebooks are very detailed. I hope to cover the key parts in a book that’s rattling around in my head these days.
JA's was named Theodore. With a grandchild now...

Best regards!
Did she modify that hatchet by putting a radius on the bottom, and sharpening the whole curve?
That’s the way that hatchet came. Made before 1933 in Cannstatt Germany.

I’m sure her work, and yours, and the far ranging connections and collaborations, would make a hell of a memoir and story to read.
