I’m nearing the finish line on the cupboard I’m making and have been bringing the book draft up to date during the past few days. One of the tasks there has been sorting through the thousands of photos to illustrate what I’m talking about. While doing so, I found some videos I shot when I built the first version of this cupboard. So I stitched a few together to show how I go about making the applied turnings that are plastered all over the cupboard. There’s maybe 16 turnings of 5 or 6 different spindle shapes. Enough to make my head spin at times. Like all my videos, it’s too long. Be forewarned. Plus, I never knew the lathe bumped around like that until I shot video of it in action. I never noticed it as I was turning.

Thanks Peter
That's a very helpful video. The speed (or lack of it) of the spring pole lathe and the lack of noise make things a little more clear.
