well, I didn’t intend to write a post today - but here it is anyway. A very short one, with a 3-minute video at the end. Yesterday I did something new - and was anxious to see if it worked. A spring lock on the bottom drawer in my box-with-drawers.
After I had the drawer made and test-fitting I made the spring lock - I had never seen them before, if I ever heard of them I’d forgotten it. I made a thin slat of ash, riven adn shaved to be flexible. I didn’t measure it beyond eye - then began making the housing in the drawer bottom for it. The end of this housing is angled down, into the drawer bottom (being careful not to go through it…) That pitches the forward end of the slat up - well, technically down - but I’m working on the underside.
