In between shaving chair parts and planing boards, I’ve been doing some Windsor chairmaking lately and I’m working on writing a post about Windsor chairs and my craft genealogy project…
But in the meantime - the last chair of 2024 is now photographed and for sale. A red oak ladderback, hickory bark seat. Rungs are a mixture of oak and hickory.
I didn’t measure this particular chair, but it’s my standard Jennie Alexander-style chair - they’re about 33 1/2” high, width across the front c. 17” and depth of the seat about12”. Seat height around 17 1/4”. The price is $1,500 plus shipping in US, about $200-$250. If we use paypal, I’ll add their fee to the price. Otherwise, a check in the mail.

If you’d like the chair, leave a comment or send me an email & we’ll sort out the details.
I see from this blog that I assembled this chair in October - it’s the one that had a broken front rung during assembly - I fixed it then & there, but didn’t put the finish and seat on until later. Don’t put concerned about the replaced rung - it’s as sound as any of the chairs I make. Guaranteed.
